Re: The ground level - in and out
Mmhm, what are the other people working there do? They have the same problems too, after all... Personally I have found out that, yeah, nobody's gonna do your work while you're on vacation, but knowing you're away people who want additional work done find someone else, cause they're usually way too impatient to wait for you to come back.

Hey Kiy
I don't know how they do it. Most 'scientific employees' simply 'gather' so much of their guaranteed holidays that they'll end up having like 2 or 3 months off at the end of the employment time. Most people just can't really go on holidays and even if they take days off it's no more than one week.

Morning
Vacation situation: Somehow that doesn't seem right to me. People need time to recover mind and body... and if it is just to catch up on missing sleep :/

Hey Kiy
Well - you know the saying "You can sleep when you're dead." (which will be earlier than expected when you don't get sleep). Yeah - it's not right at all, but as with everything else one doesn't have any power to change it as things are now.

Re: The ground level - in and out
Appearing again.
I spent part of the morning in Staten Island, where I toured the USS Cole, a guided missile destroyer famous for nearly being sunk in 2000 while at port in Yemen, and a Coast Guard Cutter. They were there as part of the annual "Fleet Week" that occurs in NY and other cities across the country, and it was interesting because of the day, the ships, and that I'd never been to the even before despite living in the area for some time.
So yeah.
Yeah, its the US federal holiday established after our Civil War to commemorate those in the armed forces who died in the nation's various conflicts.Elyris wrote:Oh-hai Tsatu(What's 'Memorial day'? A kind of federal holiday?)
