I was once, 1993 and 1994, working at a local radio station as sound engineer with, from time to time, opportunities to take the microphone. Maybe it wasn't the largest audience, but having 50-60,000 people listening to what you have to say at the moment is kinda exciting to me. Having a live audience (in, for instance, the theater) is more challenging, I guess. And if it is some scientific stuff then, uh-oh, both what you say and how you say it matters a lot.
