Just a short sneak-in from work. I couldn't do it from home - like 2/3 of the city were 'dead'. I didn't had an black-out in ages ... quite amusing.

Blackouts here are a daily occurence. Interesting thing... you take off from Abuja or Lagos, on the way to Europe, and for first 20 minutes you see the lights on the ground. But after that, almost total darkness all the way to the coast of Algeria...

Hadn't had a blackout in ages... I think the last time I remember was some 25 years ago when a digger cut the main cable to the part of town I was working that time.

I had one due to a cut cable two years ago when I was jsut sitting in the destists chair (luckily enough the base for the new filling was just done the moment it happened so I could go home and come back next day).

Oh, lucky you!
It is extremely difficult to find any medium sized or large UPS unit in Europe, because power simply doesn't go off. Unlike here, where it happens few times a day

Actually I like black outs - since I can remember. Back in the days my grandparents had a gas-oven and a coal furnace, so it wasn't cold and we had cooked food as usual - just wiht candlelight. I really liked that.

In from a hotel room... I'm on a hiking trip with co-workers this weekend (I really needed that, to get out a bit) and even though the hotel has free wifi I still needed to get username and password to log in - and the guy at the reception desk must have taken a break when I came in from dinner :p
