I fear it might grow itself out to a work-moth, then a wor-year and finally a work-life ... at least these are the conditions I have to count with.
Not looking forward to it the slightest.

Yeah, but there's something like weekends and vacation in between - and thank Eywa, not every week's as bad as the last two.

I don't really see any 'vacation' ahead of me, though.

Back home.

Me neither... and having family returning to Nigeria (for at least some time), I won't have any vacation any time soon.... But all is well :)

Next week off is the one before Easter. I'm looking forward to it!

Out now for a carneval party in the neighbour village with a co-worker :)

You know the drill... a lot of hot tea with a lot of lemon... or lemonade... and some aspirin will help too.

Don't have lemons here, so I stick to honey instead - for the hot tea.

Meh, still sucks!

That brings the topic ov Na'vi medicine. Any records of it? What do they do when they eat something nasty, or get an infection, or... you name it?

Hey boss :)

We didn't heard of it yet (at least as far as I recall). But I think that in case they get sick (less likely than for us as they simply live more close to their nature and are more fit and healthy in general) or injured (more likely, but still not much more than for us) they surely got a vast variety of medicine, mostly taken from the different plants around them - we surely don't do us any favour with destroying the amazonas rainforest one being the loss of a lot of healing plants - as well as from animals (like the litte 'trippy worm' for the dream hunt - the same substance can help in caes of heavy pain for example). There must be a lot and a lot surprising stuff. For example: I learned just yesterday that in ancient egypt it was recommended to put pieces of mouldy bread on open injuries. Sounds weird? Well penicilline is nothing more than a metabolic product of certain mould fungi. Sometimes it doen't require a deep understanding of the inner functional process to see how something can help with certain problems.

Still feeling like a herd of titanotheres just trampled over me :oh:

Na'vi medicine: What Elyris just said... I'm sure Pandora's full of all kinds of natural medicine and the Na'vi healers know very well how to apply it. With a hunterer-gatherer society as they have I'm also sure they're good at treating all kinds of injuries that could happen on a hunt or when someone's not careful moving through the forest. Or the plains, for the horse clans and the ones living at the coast. Even carbon-fiber-improved bones can break if a stormbeest tramples on there (remembers the hunting scene in the extended version).
Remember, his first night at Hometree, after that viperwolf attack, someone wrapped a leaf-bandage around Jake's arm where he had gotten hurt in the fight.

Hey Kiy :)

Try to get some rest then.

Yes, indeed - nearly forgot about that. Also this kind of 'nature medicine' is often more efficient in it's healing qualities and gently to the patient than what we call modern medicine. No wonder if you consider that it had a lot more time to develop and the circumstances it did in were less influenced by 'ideology' (meaning the people were more open-minded to what to try out and accept if it did).

I wanted to write yesterday evening that the closing ceremony of the Olympics was very nice and the mascots were very cute (there were honestly so much more uglier or creepier versions), but my pc just totally went on boycot and the internet was suoer slow, so I gave up.
