Back home.

Hey Kiy :)

Alarmclock rings at 4.15, I get up at 4:30 - just the usual.

The Olympics will start soon. :geek:

4:15??? That's just insane... :omg:

Back home now, finally. I sooooo "love" it when work appears on late Friday afternoons. Especially when said work was announced for Friday morning.

Well - that's work for you (but I start at 6 so I have to get up on time).

Yup ... errrhhm .... work sucks big time, no matter where you look. :gotcha:

I think by now I could kielholen the commentators of the opening ceremony - what biased cowpoo they're telling.

I totally miss that eurosport hasn't got the rights to show it (which is kinda scandalous if you ask me - a sport canal who isn't allowed to air the biggest sport happening on the year ... WTF?) . I simply love they're commentators. They're very well informed, funny and just know an awful amount of background stuff.

I've just looked at a row of pictures... looks as if it's been a great show there.

Smaller than the summer games, but that's always the case.

I just have to take your word for that as I don't look the shows, just the pictures afterwards.

And I thought it was just football. :omgg:

You can really watch the opening ceremonies - not too much sports in there, more like show. :)

Nope... only sports I've been watching when I still was watching TV at all were Ballroom Dancing competitions - and Ice Dancing as a kid.

I can see the fun in doing all those sports but watching it for me personally is incredibly boring.

Good morning :)

That's too bad. It can actually be quite fun - especially wiht a good commentator. And also pretty exciting when things are getting close.

Maybe it's because "getting close" is really close nowadays. I mean, when a few 1/100s of seconds can decide that someone is "better" than the other one that's a bit silly to me. For me those two are equally good, no matter if they're racing down a hill with skis or racing the 100m in a stadium.
Maybe it's just because I'm not a very competitive type, and especially not if it's just about someone going "faster" or "wider" than the other.

What more, I don't like the way some people talk about the competitors who didn't win or at least make it into the top three and gain a medal. I've actually heard people call those athletes "losers", and that insults my sense for fairness. All those people give their very best, have trained hard and - I hope - get some fun out of being there. And it the end it's only about the top few... nope, that's not my cup of tea.

Hmmm hmmmm.

I completely understand what you mean.

I can say I was never really competetive either (something that always counted as a bad character of mine) nor was I ever any good at sports. But for some reason we always watched the bigger sport happenings. You could say it's kinda traditional (both my grandparents were really sportive in their youth so I think that's coming from there).
I always liked about it (especially with the olympics) that completely unforeseen things can happen all the time.
And as I said: a good commentation is the A and O - sadly enough I wouldn't be able to hear the most appreciated commentators this time (I know I already said this, but it'll bother me until the end). They're really fair and pretty cool and you always get the feeling that they see the person behind the position, not caring so much about who wins and who looses, but who did well or had a good day (and feel with those who had bad luck).
It's really a shame that they're not there this time.
