I guess these other platforms are more instant, like comparing being pen-pals (forum) and actually talking on the phone (chat platforms)

Hmm - but the perceived 'speed' of conversation is more up to how many people are online at the same time and how fast each one responds.

If you have such a discord, but people only drop by every 3 days or so it will be slow. Back in the olden days on the og forum there wer time were I had 3 to 5 tabs for different threads open at the same time. It was very lively and very fast.

Maybe it's more bacuse it seems to be the new cool thing around or something.

I guess I'm just old.
